About

At PWCampbell, our story is one of legacy, innovation, and resilience. What began as a general contracting company has evolved into a 4th generation family-owned and certified women’s business enterprise. We are a trusted leader in the financial industry, recognized for our expertise as a full-service design-build and integrated services firm.

Along the way, we expanded our reach with the creation of Phillip Wentzel Custom Homes, our highly successful residential division, and developed BrandVisionHD, a digital signage platform built exclusively for financial institutions. Through every chapter, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to building exceptional spaces and even stronger relationships. The journey of how we got here is one of hard work, vision, and dedication—this is our story.

Generations

Second generation owners, Jim and John Campbell shifted the focus to commercial construction, focusing primarily on the banking industry. Their keen business sense recognized that evolving into a design-build company would be a great benefit to our clients and a unique advantage over our competition. By the time the third generation, also named Jim and John, took the reins, the company was a well-respected name in the financial services industry, serving the mid-Atlantic region. This legacy has now been extended to the company’s fourth generation in Erin, Carlin, and Amanda.

PWCampbell isn’t just a name, it’s a legacy.

Family owned and operated, PWCampbell is founded as a general contracting company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Known for exceptional work on ornate porch designs, the company grew in reputation throughout the region. It hasn’t lost the values instilled by its founder or the hardworking region in which it first thrived.

  • PWCampbell increases its focus on design-build for financial institutions.
  • In the late 1960s, we recognized the advantages of design-build and began integrating architecture into our process, removing the need for clients to mediate between an architect and a contractor.

As financial institutions expanded their branch networks, PWCampbell also grew. Initially serving the Mid-Atlantic region from its Pittsburgh headquarters, PWCampbell’s reputation for quality and value helped build the business throughout the eastern United States.

As financial institutions move towards data-driven and strategic growth models, PWCampbell adds consulting services to inform client decisions. Client questions include where to place new branches based on demographics and growth potential as well as how to maximize existing retail networks.
