Residential General Foreman

We are seeking to add a local Residential General Foreman to our growing and talented high-end custom home division, Phillip Wentzel Custom Homes. This position requires the individual to be construction minded, highly organized, and work independently.

Objectives of this Role

A Residential General Foreman plans and ensures the coordination of multiple construction projects and site superintendents.  Ensure total quality during and post construction.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to read and understand detailed project specifications and drawings, and then communicate that information clearly and concisely to subordinates
  • Manage Site Superintendents quality control efforts.
  • Perform routine quality control inspections of the job site, workers, and subcontractors to ensure performance
  • Follow and promote all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the company
  • Superintendent morale, productivity, cooperation, and teamwork are maintained at high levels
  • Consistently display the ability to recognize and manage priorities with Site Superintendents
  • Assist Site Superintendents with intricate details, drawings, layouts and execution
  • Support Site Superintendents in exploring unconventional strategies for CPM scheduling due to increasing challenges of subcontractor availabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with client and Project Manager to identify needs and evaluate solutions
  • Ability to perform all high-end/custom carpentry
  • Must be able to run jobsites to cover for vacations, illnesses, etc. for Site Superintendents

Requirements

  • Local travel to job sites weekly
  • 20 years’ experience as a superintendent or foreman in residential construction. Custom home experience is a must.
  • (5) years of leadership in the construction industry is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of custom home construction and scheduling
  • Ability to self-perform all high-end related carpentry work
  • Experience in all stages of building construction
  • Be equally comfortable leading all scale of projects, from small improvements to large new builds and remodels
  • Excellent client relations management
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good motor vehicle record
  • Ability to lead and supervise
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Office, etc.)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
