Objectives of this Role
Primary responsibilities are to provide effective and creative schematic designs to meet project goals and budgets while working with other team members and clients.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage project timelines/schedules to meet client expectations
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of drawings and specifications
- Apply knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes and building materials
- Analyze project programming information to create preliminary designs of floor plans, site plans, and elevations
- Work within defined schedule and budget parameters
- Generate and illustrate creative, innovative and workable design solutions
- Complete space planning and adjacency analyses
- Determine functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations
- Work with team to complete construction permit drawings
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines to integrate engineering elements into unified designs
- Resolve project design conflicts as needed
- Ensure compliance with the company’s quality assurance policies and project delivery procedures
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Follow company policies and design standards
- Stay abreast with knowledge of competition, commercial design trends, and construction methods
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Registered Architect is preferred but not required. Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Working knowledge of Revit and SketchUp
- Knowledge of financial institution design and construction is a bonus
- Willingness to travel to job sites in various states with overnight stays required; travel is not reoccurring but could be as much as once a month
- Current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes and regulations
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in all stages of project delivery: Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration
