Retail Superintendent

PWCampbell, a design-build and branded environments firm that specializes in financial institutions, has immediate openings for Traveling Superintendents based out of our Huntingdon Valley, PA Retail Branding office.

Work with a collaborative team to oversee interior refresh work for banks and credit unions.  Ground-up construction experience is not necessary.


  • Read and interpret job specs and plans to ensure quality projects are completed on time
  • Conduct inventories of materials, anticipate needs and requirements, and continually coordinate with the Project Manager
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors
  • Use basic hand tools to set up and install vinyl graphics and other merchandising elements on walls, floors, and windows
  • Ensure safety by having a full understanding of all OSHA and COVID-19 compliance


  • Travel – 80-90% monthly, including overnight stays
  • Weekend and night work – additional compensation paid for this
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • 4-6 years’ experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction

Physical Requirements

  • Moderate physical effort required to sit, stand, Bend, stoop, lift, and climb. Maximum unassisted lift is 50 lbs. and average lift is 10 lbs.

Objectives of this Role

Manages day-to-day on-site construction operations which includes building and renovating for the commercial industry focusing on financial institutions.  Effectively communicate and support clients, project team, subcontractors and even pick up tools if needed.


  • Read and interpret job specs and plans to ensure a quality project is completed on time and within budget
  • Review and coordinate project plans and specifications at the job site
  • Conduct inventories of materials, anticipates needs and requirements and continually coordinates with the project manager for uninterrupted flow of materials to maintain the work schedule
  • Sole person in supervision over the subcontractors
  • Uphold the project to schedule and budget
  • Permit supervision including scheduling inspections and meeting with inspectors on site
  • Create work logs on a daily basis
  • Coordinate with staff on Interior Designs, Furniture, Branding and Technology Installations
  • Communicate directly with all parties through duration of project including architect, engineers and clients
  • With project manager, host on site meetings to review phase progress and ensure timely follow through
  • Handle daily client communications, ensuring client understanding and satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with client and project manager to identify needs and evaluate solutions
  • Ensure safety by having a full understanding of all OSHA and COVID-19 requirements and compliance
  • Ability to perform small carpentry work if needed
  • Guarantee overall quality and workmanship
  • Work with team to complete construction
  • Follow company policies and standards


  • Regular weekly travel with overnight stays in the Mid-Atlantic regions
  • 4-6 years’ experience as a superintendent in commercial construction. Bank and Credit Union experience is a plus
  • Thorough understanding of design-build construction including scheduling, permitting, budgets, safety and reporting
  • Experience in all stages of building construction
  • Be equally comfortable leading all scale of projects, from small improvements to large new builds and remodels
  • Excellent client relations management
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good motor vehicle record
  • Ability to lead and supervise
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Office, etc.)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service
