Business Development Officer

PWCampbell is looking for an experienced Business Development officer in the Pittsburgh commercial construction industry. This team member must be self-motivated with a competitive spirit and have the proven ability to convert customer leads into closed contracts. This position reports directly to the President & CEO and is expected to aggressively prospect the Pittsburgh market for commercial bid and negotiated projects. You will be the frontline representation of an 111-year-old, fourth generation, family owned, design-build firm with a stellar reputation for quality construction and treating customers and employees the right way. Objectives of this Role

The sole objective of this role is to independently generate leads and close new business, focusing your efforts in the Pittsburgh commercial construction market. You will be marketing our proven construction expertise to decision makers of commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Generate leads through cold calling by phone, vendor referrals, previous relationships and general networking
  • Develop target lists in selected segments that match our value proposition and maximize growth potential in the Pittsburgh commercial construction market
  • Develop relationships while building trust and credibility with potential and existing referral sources
  • Set up and attend appointments
  • Meet clients after business hours and entertain prospects and clients, when necessary
  • Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business
  • Exceed sales goals by assessing current and potential client needs by following PWCampbell’s defined selling process
  • Exceed agreed upon sales targets, outcomes, and calling quotas
  • Report outcomes of prospecting with President & CEO on a regular basis while working with the commercial construction department
  • Manage leads and prospect database with detailed record keeping, information distribution and use of proprietary software
  • Gain in-depth product knowledge to promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to prospective customers
  • Visit clients and potential clients on a regular basis to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  • Take the lead on developing sales presentations with support staff and then deliver sales presentations to a range of prospective clients
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction

 Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent and minimum of five years sales and/or marketing experience
  • 5-10 years of business development and/or operations experience within the construction and/or architectural industry in the Pittsburgh and surrounding market is required
  • Excellent client relations management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Office, etc.)
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good motor vehicle record
  • Current and creative knowledge of sales techniques to win the business
  • Ability to pass certain screening requirements
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
