Architectural Design Manager

We are seeking to add an Architectural Design Manager to our growing and talented Company. Within this leadership position, you will harness and help to grow the Design team, including both new and veteran team members within architectural, interior and building design disciplines. Additionally, this role ensures constant communication occurs throughout internal Design-Build processes, supporting growth opportunities for the individuals, the department and the impact this team has on the company as a whole. Objectives of this Role

Primary responsibilities will include leading the design team and planning process of commercial facilities while directing and overseeing the production and coordination of architectural deliverables for projects. Incorporate a strong architectural knowledge to all design team members.

Responsibilities

Architectural Design

  • Provide architectural design for varied projects and client base
  • Create and manage project timelines/schedules to meet client expectations
  • Review of Final Drawings and Specifications
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow company policies and design standards
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s quality assurance policies and project delivery procedures
  • Apply knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes and building materials
  • Work with team to complete construction permit drawings
  • Stay abreast with knowledge of competition, commercial design trends, and construction methods

Management

  • Lead the architectural department to provide excellent service to clients
  • Manage broad, diverse team of Designers and Drafters who create, coordinate, and execute multiple simultaneous projects. Assist team members in learning processes and growing professionally
  • Manage designers for design aesthetics and efficiency in the creation of designs
  • Provide objective feedback to designers, based on project goals not personal opinion
  • Oversee the team, including hiring, training, disciplining, and providing leadership and recommendations for process improvement
  • Provide plan check and quality control processes to ensure accuracy of all construction documents
  • Resolve project design conflicts as needed
  • Recognize design team needs and make recommendations, in conjunction with EVP, Design and Construction, for hiring and firing. Assist with keeping the employees moral high. Communicate openly.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect is preferred but not required. Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of Revit and SketchUp
  • Knowledge of financial institution design and construction is a bonus
  • Willingness to travel to job sites in various states with overnight stays required; travel is not reoccurring but could be as much as once a month
  • Current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes and regulations
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in all stages of project delivery: Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration
